History
This cemetery is infamous for the famous "Merchant's Ball", a large granite sphere on top of a tombstone. The story, is actual. The ball revolves on its base. The movemnet of the ball can be tracked by the small rough patch on the ball that was originally at the bottom of the sphere, between the sphere and the base.

Some say that the revolution of the ball is a restless spirit, but some say that it has nothing to do with anything paranormal, in fact they say that it has to do with expansion and contraction due to the weather.

Ripley's Believe it or Not, wrote about the ball. So did Skeptic Magazine.

An old wooden cross maker was also burried in this cemetery. She was said to be a gypsy who died as she traveld through Marion. Reports of her spirit haunting the nearby houses to the cemetery have been made.
